Questions about referrals and visits
Who can send a referral?
A doctor, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or other provider who knows your health. The desk can send a referral form to the office, or you can bring your provider's referral with you.
Can I book without a referral?
Most visits here start with a referral. If you do not have one, call the desk and we will tell you what to ask your provider for.
What do you send back to my doctor's office?
A note that your first visit took place, and a short summary when your visits end: how many visits you kept, how long each was and which areas we worked on. We do not send a diagnosis, because we do not make one.
Do you bill insurance?
No. We work with a referral from your doctor or other provider, and we give you a receipt you can send to your plan. Whether your plan pays is between you and your plan.
What do I wear, and am I covered?
Undress only as far as you are comfortable. You are covered by a sheet or towel the whole time, and only the part we are working on is uncovered.
Can I stop a session?
Yes, at any time and for any reason. You can pause, change position or end the session, and we stop right away.
How long is a visit?
A session runs 30 to 90 minutes. Plan on a few minutes more for check-in. The first visit after a referral is usually 60 minutes.
Do you diagnose?
No. This is therapeutic massage. We do not diagnose, and massage does not replace the care of your doctor.
How often will I come?
Your referral usually says how many visits and how far apart. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm after your first visit, and you can change it at any time.
Should I tip?
Tipping is optional. You can add it when you pay.
Still have a question?
